Software Engineer

Remote

Role Description

Lumunate is a product and engineering company building and transforming digital products across software, AI, systems and product experience.

We are hiring a Software Engineer to design, build and maintain the code that turns product ideas, and fragile early builds, into software that holds up in production.

This is not a role for someone who needs every decision broken into tasks. You will work inside real products, evolving requirements and a team that values clarity, ownership and production-quality execution.

What You'll Own

Build features end to end: Read the requirement, agree the approach, write the code, test it and see it through to release.

Keep the code healthy: Clean, reviewed and tested code that the next engineer can understand and change safely.

Make builds production-ready: Fix the weak points in existing products (performance, security, error handling, data integrity) so they survive real users.

Estimate honestly: Explain clearly what something will take, and what each option costs.

Raise the team's bar: Review teammates' pull requests and document the decisions that matter.

What Good Looks Like

Features ship on the agreed date, behave as specified and rarely come back as bugs.

You raise risks early instead of discovering them at release.

Your pull requests are small, well described and easy to review.

Codebases you touch end up cleaner than you found them.

You'll Do Well Here If

You have shipped production software in at least one modern stack, such as TypeScript, Node.js, Python or Go, and are comfortable learning another.

You know the fundamentals: data structures, APIs, databases, version control and testing.

You can work from incomplete requirements and ask the questions that fill the gaps.

You use AI tools to move faster, but understand and own every line you ship.
